This page will contain my philosophy for reading and some information on SFA.
Linda Simmons will be in Jackpot December 10th and 11th. I thought that we'd look at membercenter and the lesson section.
SFA Vision: (Quoted from SFAF's Leadership guide, 2006 Edition, pg. 1-3)
The mission of the Success for All Foundation is to research, develop, and provide professional development and materials to implement and support the successful ongoing implementation of whole-school reform models and educational innovations capable of significantly enhancing the achievement and success of all children and especially those in high-poverty schools.

SFA's goal is to create a climate in school where all children can learn. In the SFA program reading is a priority. Success in reading leads students to success in math, science, social studies, etc.
For our reading program we use a common 90 minute (55 for middle school) block of time. In the elementary, 30 minutes is dedicated to AR reading. We use DIBELS, 4-Sight and Renaissance Learning (STAR) to establish baseline and quarterly assessments. Our students are grouped homogeneously in reading classes. Cooperative learning is used to develop student interaction and facilitate learning. SFA's Cycle of Effective Instruction is active instruction, partner/team practice, assessment, and celebration.
